Refugees who are particularly in need of protection include victims of sexual violence, victims of torture and victims of human trafficking, but also unaccompanied minors, women traveling alone, LGBTIQ people and people with disabilities and serious or chronic illnesses.
Their special situations must be taken into account in the asylum procedure. This presupposes that the special need for protection is recognized in the first place. Only in this way can the procedures be adapted to your situation, special needs in the admission conditions and, for example, a need for therapy can be determined and the necessary specialized care and treatment initiated.
