European Asylum Policy
Politics and law relating to migration and asylum take place at state and national level, but also beyond. Last but not least, the vast majority of the causes of flight – war and persecution, but also climate damage and economic hardship – are the result of global processes and international or supranational action. European asylum policy is therefore also of great importance from a German perspective. Criticism is also important, as shown by the ongoing violations of human rights at Europe’s borders and beyond.
